According to Women’s and Children’s Health Network, babies between five and twelve months may suddenly develop a fear of strangers. They might become afraid of people who have interacted with them since birth. This happens because most babies form a close bond with their parents or caregivers. Babies do not want to be separated from their immediate loved ones.
A few ways to help your baby with this fear is to never force your baby to go to a stranger. Introduce your baby to strangers/family/friends and encourage them to make eye contact with everyone. Talk to your baby in a confident voice to reassure he/she is safe.
