As we prepare for the holidays, the stress of buying gifts for our children may overwhelm us. When we “buy into the madness” for our children, expectations of gift giving has been established. Before buying presents for your kids, you might want to ask yourself a few key questions:
- How many gifts am I buying for my kids and why?
- What is my intention for buying specific gifts for my kids?
- Am I teaching my kids that presents are the most important part of the holidays?
- Can I start a new tradition this Christmas that does not cost anything?
Children need our attention first and foremost, not our gifts. Plan special family time together to grow closer to your kids and to let them know they are your priority. Happy Holidays!
