The brain experiences optimal development when more than one of the five senses is used at the same time. Plan a home scavenger hunt. Provide your children with a brown paper bag and ask them to find ten items around the house to place in the bag. After the items are gathered, have your children sort items by color, similar shape, and size. Ask your children to use their senses to describe the objects. How do they smell? What do they feel like? What color are they? Incorporating your children’s senses in a learning experience makes it a meaningful one!
