Around The House
You can include your child in everyday tasks and activities that are fun for you and him. Follow your child’s curiosity; it’s an important part of learning. And be patient with his efforts. It takes time to master a new skill.

Ask your child to get the mail and help her sort it. Explain what mail is and where it comes from.
Include your child in your daily chores such as dusting, sweeping, and loading the dishwasher.
Talk about the shapes, sizes, and colors of things your child sees or handles.
Encourage your child to help with the laundry by separating the lights and darks, pouring a pre-measured amount of detergent into the washer, turning the dial to start, transferring items from the washer to the dryer, folding laundry, and putting it away.
Explain where the things in your home come from and how they are made.
