The 5 Love Languages of Children
Gary Chapman and Ross Campbell
We know you love your child crazy, but let’s make sure, your child knows it! We hope you join us for this parenting journey as we work through how to better express the love we have for our children.
As we outline Gary Chapman and Ross Campbell’s The 5 Love Languages of Children, we promise to break down each chapter into bite sized pieces. If you are like us, you have enough going on right now, so we will keep things simple. It is our hope to help you better understand how to best meet your child’s emotional needs in easy, practical, and in intentional ways.
Exactly, what is a “love language”? According to Chapman and Campbell, “Every child has a primary language of love, a way in which he or she understands a parent’s love best. Your child needs to know he is loved in order to grow into a giving, loving, responsible adult. The 5 Love Language of Children will define all 5 languages and help you to discover the primary languages in which your child hears your love.”
The 5 Love Languages are identified as:
-
Physical Touch
-
Words of Affirmation
-
Quality Time
-
Gifts
-
Acts of Service.
Sound interesting? We hope so. In the next blog, we will be identifying what your primary love language is (and your child’s). You won’t want to miss this!
See you next time…
