Fall is a perfect time to get outside in the cool, sunny weather and enjoy time with your kids. There are plenty of activities to do during fall that are free or cheap. Set a time to spend quality time with your kids.
Jumping in leaves - Spend time as a family raking up leaves in your backyard or in a friend's backyard and let the kids jump in the piles.
Pumpkin picking – Take your kids to a pumpkin patch to find a pumpkin for carving or decorating. Read a book about pumpkins before you go to the pumpkin patch and ask your kids questions about pumpkins as they are picking one out.
Bonfire nights- Plan an evening to have a bonfire with your kids and ask them to help plan what food you will need to buy ahead of time for the bonfire.
Apple picking- Check out your local apple orchard and let the kids pick their own apples if they are able to. You can buy one of each kind of apple that they have and do a taste test at home. Ask your kids what kind of apples they like best.
Nature scavenger hunt -Make a list of fall items like leaves, acorns, pumpkins, and apples. Go on a nature hunt at a local park to find these items.
Baking – Bake treats like apple pie, pumpkin bread, and caramel corn with your kids and then deliver them to friends and family.
Fall crafts- Make leaf rubbings and paint pumpkins with your kids.
These fun activities are a great way to get outside and spend quality time with your kids.
