Playing outside helps children to feel at peace on the inside.
Like flowers, children bloom in nature. No time to go to a park? Just go outside under a tree and help your child collect things such as small rocks, acorns, leaves and other natural things. Give her little boxes for her treasurers.
Take your baby outside and name the things you notice her looking at. Give her time to watch until her interest shifts.
Point out an ant or spider to your son. Talk to him about what spiders eat. (The eat other bugs.) You might tell him that even though ants are very small they are very strong - kind of like Superman!
Why To?
Children who play regularly in natural environments have better fitness, including coordination, balance and agility, and they are sick less often.
