As a parent, try to always be: available, attentive, and joyful!
You can't decide not to go to the grocery store; but you CAN decide to make it a great experience!
Talk to your child, before you go, about something the family needs from the store. Help him look for that item as you walk through the store.
Play "I Spy." Say something like, "I spy something orange on the middle shelf."
Let your child choose a cereal or snack that your family will eat next week - give two healthy choices to choose from.
Why To?
Grocery stores are perfect for practicing social development. While you buy food you can model kindness to other shoppers or show your children how to ask (kindly) for help.
